Faber Group publishes 2023 Sustainability Report, showing stable performance in all areas
Faber Group will publish its 2023 Sustainability Report early July. In this report we provide our Sustainability results over 2023, such as footprint reduction – per division and as Faber Group in total. Plus, the Sustainability Report 2023 outlines our Sustainability strategy and the Faber Development goals. Furthermore, it showcases the results of the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) we did for our main load carriers.
Life Cycle Analysis “These Life Cycle Analyses are key to give a fair comparison between the footprint of our reusable and circular load carriers versus market alternatives such as one-way pallets”, says Koen Sluys, Sustainability Manager Faber Group. “The LCA quantifies the footprint of the entire lifespan of the load carrier, which includes production, usage phase and end-of-life in which we ensure to dispose our load-carriers in a sustainable way. Not surprisingly, the footprint of our reusable load carriers is very favourable against one-way alternatives as ours are being used over and over during many cycles.”
The LCA’s have been conducted by external consultancies and also have been reviewed by peer experts, to ensure an independent judgement on the correctness of the data. Global Reporting Initiative Another new element in the 2023 Sustainability Report is the inclusion of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) table. GRI is an organization which aims to set standards and transparency in Sustainability Reporting, also to enable fair comparison between the sustainability performance of different companies. The GRI table clearly indicates where certain data, according to the GRI standards in a Sustainability Report can be found. Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive “With these additions we have made our Sustainability Report more solid, which is important given the upcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)”, says Koen. “Until now sustainability reporting has been voluntary for us, but it will become mandatory per 2025. We also see that our stakeholders, such as customers and retailers increasingly demand transparency about our sustainability performance in their consideration to do business with us. With our Sustainability Report we can show that Faber Group is a perfect partner to make their supply chains more sustainable.”
